the day i got inked in Brooklyn

Nunja … irgendwie geplant, irgendwie auch ein wenig spontan. Ein paar Wochen vor unserem Trip nach New York meinte ich zu Jakob halb im Ernst, halb im Spaß: „Wir sollten uns in New York tätowieren lassen!“ Und er meinte nur: „Ok.“

Er weiß, dass ich manchmal vorschnell Entscheidungen treffe, nicht genug drüber nachdenke oder auch gerne mal Unsinn quatsche, weswegen er auch nicht weiter darüber nachdachte. Aber je näher die New York Reise kam, desto öfter sprach ich über passende Tattoo Shops in New York und Tattoowünsche. Und ich hatte schon ganz lange ein paar Motive im Kopf, die ich dringend unter meine Haut bringen lassen wollte und die auch eine kleine emotionale Bedeutung für mich haben. Warum nicht das mit einem tollen Trip verknüpfen? Ich wusste die Tattoo Parlor in Amerika begrüßen die sogenannten Walk-Ins, also „reingehen, drankommen, tätowiert werden“, während man in Deutschland meist Monate auf einen Termin warten muss. Online recherchierte ich vorab, welche Tattoo Stores empfohlen wurden und entschied mich dann vor Ort für Flyrite Tattoo in Brooklyn. Fernando Lions war unser Künstler und er hat einen ausgezeichneten Job gemacht! Sowohl bei mir, als auch bei Jakob. Meine neuen Tats sind vermutlich die Souvenirs mit dem meisten emotionalen Wert…

Well… kinda planned, kinda spontaneous. A couple of weeks before our trip to New York i said my boyfriend: „We should get inked while we stay in New York!“ And he was like:“Ok.“

He knows, sometimes i am a little bit quick on decisions and i don’t think them through, so he didn’t spent any more thoughts about it at first. But the nearer our trip came, the more i talked about getting more tattoos in New York. There where also some motives on my mind i desperately wanted to get inked on my skin for a long time. I knew the tattoo parlors in America welcome walk-ins, while in Germany you often need an appointment and have to wait – sometimes months- for it. So i checked online for recommended tattoo parlors and found Flyrite Tattoo in Brooklyn. Fernando Lions was our artist and he did an amazing job! My new tats are definitely  my most precious souvenirs from New York.
